Adam & Eve Post Strong Profits for 1st Quarter of 2011

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — Adam & Eve released its first quarter 2011 results today citing strongest overall profits for the time frame since 2007.

The company reported sales increases of 13 percent and profit increases of 9 percent over last year.

Director of marketing Chad Davis said, "We are tremendously pleased with the first quarter 2011 results. We’ve seen increases across the board … from 1st quarter 2010, sales from radio are up 25 percent, sales from television and new media are up 50 percent and sales from paid search are up 32 percent."

He added, "In addition, sales from the Adam & Eve catalog are up 6 percent and sales from email are up 4 percent.”

Davis noted interesting changes in customer habits over the last few years.

“Traditional customer acquisition tools such as direct mail and magazine advertising have decreased dramatically while paid search, email and new media efforts such as podcasts and mainstream television placement have gained momentum,” Davis said.

The executive maintained that the company is eyeing what changes are in store for the next few years but are enthusiastic about continuing to explore and adapt to the new channels that have opened up in the last two to three years.

Although requested by XBIZ, Adam & Eve's policy is not to release actual dollar amounts.
